WBD: What inspired you to start fighting and how did you get started?

I was a troubled kid and was always getting arrested. I had a friend that was training and he told me to come in. I went in sparred and loved it. I wrestled when I was a kid and loved to street fight, so I quit everything and dedicated my life to MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) at the age of 25.

WBD: Who are your biggest industry inspirations?

Tito Ortiz and Jose Aldo

WBD: Tell us about your experience on the Ultimate Fighter.

Wow, being on the show was a journey. The best training and training partners I have ever had, but being away from my family and friends with no phone and tv sucked.

WBD: What was it like sharing a house with the other contestants for 16 weeks?

It was ok, everyone in the house was great people, so we all helped each other out.

WBD: What is your favorite memory of being on the show?

Vince and Sam and I getting trashed and vince rolling off the top bunk passed out drunk was pretty damn funny. After that, watching Vince runs sprints 4 hrs later and he made it with out puking.

WBD: Tell us about balancing a family and your career?

It’s hard, it’s a grind. Fighting is all I have and it puts extra pressure on me to succeed in fighting, but it also motivates me to make it to the top.

WBD: What’s coming up for you that you’re excited about?

I just got my own clothing line coming out which is pretty damn cool.

WBD: What is your ultimate goal as a fighter?

To be a world champion and be a legend in the sport.

WBD: What advice do you have for someone wanting to start down your path?

Give it your all. All or nothing and if you do you will achieve greatness. It’s a grind. Don’t ever doubt yourself. Push yourself to the breaking point and the rest will come easy.

A case of 312. Great beer.

I love basset hounds.

4. What advice would you give to your 15 year old self?

Lay off the Captain Morgan.

5. One guilty pleasure you aren’t willing to give up?

Drinking hella beer.
